Children up to the age of 18 are referred to the clinic by their family physician for medical, behavior, learning and social issues. There is a wide variety of reasons for which a child will be referred including acute medical issues.
In addition, children are occasionally referred to Tertiary Care Centres, mosly Children's Hospital of Western Ontario. There are children with Complex Medical Issues that benefit from a local Pediatric follow-up in the community. Children facing neglect and abuse are also assessed and followed through the clinic in liaison with local Child Protection Agencies.
The clinic takes place once a week every Tuesday and is a full day clinic.
